supaslim asked: About your widow spider- the spiders in the widow family lose their spots as they age, until only the hourglass on their abdomen is visible. I think the loss of spots correlates with breeding in that the spider has matured- I don't think the act of breeding itself changes her color. I could be wrong, though! I think you've got a pretty young spider there :)

We have a few bug zappers and some anti-moth spray (it only seems to momentarily stun them, though), but is there a way of repelling them without killing? Thanks!
