Polyphemus Moth!
“Howdy buggirl! I just thought I would share some pictures of a recently emerged Polyphemus Moth! What is this spider I found in my yard?
Hi, Agille!  I think this is a Long Jawed Orb Weaver, genus Tetragnatha.  This is a new family for me to identify and I received two in just a week!  The other photo was of the spider’s underside.  These pretty spiders are known for their long legs that they stretch out in a straight line when threatened.  It is believed this helps make them look more like a twig.  Some species have big...
