I caught this Wolf Spider outside tonight and it wasn’t happy at all being captive so I released it into our garage…  don’t tell kenny.  ha.

* In response to people’s concerns- my garage is an open carport, in the hills in a wooded area, there is plenty for her to eat and she could freely leave whenever she wanted.  It really isn’t that different than releasing her outside. The only reason I did it was b/c she was running so fast and the garage was closer to the door that leads outside. If you follow me then you should know I am an advocate for the lesser beasts. If you have issues with me catching in the first place- then you may want to unfollow me.  I catch very often as to get a good look at the critters I find.  I see nothing wrong with catch/release to educate myself.  This is my bug journal - thanks for your concern.

AND btw. “true buggirls” as in actual entomologists/entomologist students often pin them to learn from them. And most people smush spiders upon finding them, I’m being chastised for catching one to better observe it out of interest in them?  I don’t know why I’m so annoyed by this.
