I believe you are correct! The Orchard Orb Weaver, Leucauge sp. is an especially beautiful spider and here is a close match to yours’ on bugguide. Although, this is a “she”, males are much smaller. If you see an Orb Weaver of a good size sitting in a large web, you can bet it’s a girl. Males may build webs but not the giant orb kind that females do.
