I didn’t think this was another Glassy Winged Sharpshooter because the ones I usually find at CSUN’s botanical gardens lack this red coloration. According to bugguide it does look to be Homalodisca vitripennis just like the other ones I’ve found.
A pretty nondescript Beetle I found on a house up the street. Maybe a Darkling Beetle like a Mealworm Beetle but I’m not sure.
Look at this awesome Assassin Bug (don’t know the genus) I found today! Do you see the two thorn-like projections on the thorax and the amazing semi-transparent pattern all over it??
Assassin Bugs are beneficial predators!
I found a bunch of these little red-headed long-legged beetles in the bush outside my house. I’ve never seen them before today and their body shape is quite distinct. But my search under Leaf Beetles in the family Chrysomelidae came up empty handed so perhaps I am off course. It’s quite cute. And it appears to have pooped on my finger.
